Agility drills focus on quick movements and changes of direction that develop a player’s quickness. Quickness on the football field is one of the most important physical attributes that a player can work on.
Not only is it generally better in the sport of football for players to be quick than it is for them to be fast, but quickness is also an attribute that is more easily developed and improved. Whereas most athletes are born with a certain top speed, quickness is something that can more readily be improved through the use of agility and footwork drills.
