Arrowhead Drill
Setup
Mark the starting line which will also operate as the finish line. Place other cones 10 and 15 yards away from the starting line in a straight line, with an additional cone five yards to the side of the middle, 10 yard cone.
Purpose
This drill can be used as an evaluation drill to see how quickly athletes can make their way throughout turns on the field.
Drill Description
Names for the shape of the route that athletes run in this drill, the Arrowhead Drill forces athletes to maneuver around two sharp turns and run for over 40 yards throughout the drill.
Players should remain close to the cones throughout their turns, without knocking them over. The sharper and quicker that players curl around the cones will allow them to complete the drill with a faster time.
