Swim-Rip-Sack Drill

Setup

Place a tackle dummy five yards behind the line of scrimmage, someone with a blocking pad five yards behind the first dummy, and a second dummy five yards behind the blocking pad to represent the quarterback.

Purpose

Combine different defensive tactics and put them all together in one drill to make a play and get a sack on the hypothetical quarterback in this drill.

Drill Description

This drill combines the techniques of the Dip & Rip Drill and the Swim Move Drill.  Players blast off of the line in a 3-point stance and proceed to incorporate both the swim move against the tackle dummy, and the dip & rip move against the blocking pad.

After avoiding both blockers, the player then accelerates up to and into the tackle dummy to procure the sack and finish the drill.
