QB Center Exchange – Snap Drill
Setup
Line up your quarterbacks and centers in their typical formation alignment; either under center, in the shotgun, or both.
Purpose
The start of every offensive play begins with the QB/Center exchange. Often overlooked, if this exchange does not succeed, then the entire play will be ruined, or could even end in a turnover. Ensuring that this exchange is automatic and secure is the very first foundational step in every offense.
Drill Description
Simply snap the football between quarterback and center continuously for the duration of the drill. It is absolutely imperative that this task becomes second nature, because one failure in the game can result in either a complete loss of the play or the entire loss of possession.
